Conclusion
of external review training for group 1 of external evaluators

Training
for external audit for external evaluators concluded today in Sana’a at the
Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance. Participants were
trained on the dimensions and topics of external evaluation and the
requirements for evaluating academic programs. Training was carried out by a
group of specialized trainers.
The
course, over six days, aimed to provide 60 specialized academic evaluators from
medical disciplines with a number of knowledge and skills required for the
external evaluator to evaluate the academic programs in accordance with the
academic standards and the guides provided.
At the conclusion of the
workshop, the Chairman of the Council, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Haboub, gave all his
thanks to His Excellency the Minister, Mr. Hussein Hazeb and his deputy, Dr.
Yahya Sharaf El-Din, for all the continuous support and assistance to the
Council and overcoming the difficulties to move forward on the work of the
Council. He also praised Sana'a University rector for embracing the application
of external evaluation skills to assess the programmatic accreditation of the Oral
and Dental Medicine programs.
In addition, he thanked the training
experts in the first group and the participants for their engagement and attend
the session, and this indicates their seriousness in obtaining the knowledge,
skills and information that will enable them to continue their work, provided
that they are certified auditors.
The
Secretary-General, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Dhaifallah, valued the efforts made by
the Minister and his deputy, the leadership of the Ministry and the Executive
Director of the Information Technology Center for the assistance and support
they provide to the activities of the Council.
He also valued the efforts made
by the training experts who gave valuable information to the participants so
that they could carry out the tasks required of them to the fullest and he
expressed
his thanks and appreciation also to the participants in the course who proved
their seriousness by attending and interacting during the training course.
He
stressed that the Council, through this step, has achieved one of its strategic
goals in training a large group of trainees specialized in accrediting academic
programs.
In
the training course, the trainees were divided into eight groups according to
the number of academic standards to implement in coordination with the
University of Sana’a, the two deanships of quality in the College of
Dentistry.
The trainees were also given
certificates of participation in the course.
The closing session was attended
by Prof. Sharaf Al-Hamdi, Board Member, Prof. Adnan Al-Sanwi, Director General
of Accreditation - Board Member, Dr. Amal Al-Mujahid, Director General of
Evaluation, Dr. Huda Al-Emad, Dean of Quality Assurance at Sana’a University,
and the international expert, Dr. Muhammad Al-Sharjabi.
