The Council for Academic Accreditation (QACA) receives the accreditation
application of Lebanese International University for two programs
Sana’a, the Council for Accreditation and Quality Assurance (CAQA)
received today the Lebanese University application to provide technical and
consultative support in order to ensure the implementation quality of the Medical
Laboratory and Therapeutic Nutrition programs, and qualifying them to obtain the
official “Programmatic” accreditation.
During the handover, in presence of the Minster of Higher Education
and Scientific Research Mr. Hussein Hazeb and the Deputy Minister of Higher
Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ali Sharaf Al-deen; the Accreditation President,
Dr. Ahmed Al-Haboub, and the Lebanese University President, Prof. Redha Hazima
signed the agreement to submit written application in signed and authorized by
the university’s official to the Council for Accreditation (CA) to provide
technical and consultative support headed for the university to ensure the qualification
of the two programs for international accreditation. In addition, the agreement
includes the initiation of the self-assessment process for the two programs in
accordance with the programmatic accreditation’s document and guide standards
and the forms issued by CAQA. The university is required to implement the self-assessment
study while the Council provides the technical and consultative support for quality
assurance to the two programs and qualifying them to the official accreditation
through identifying the aspects of the performance’s strengths and weaknesses
and prepare a strategy to overcome the difficulties. In addition, the Minister
of Higher Education affirmed that seeking accreditation has become an urgent
necessity for qualifying university programs at Yemeni universities in
accordance with international standards to receive academic entitlement,
praising the development steps made by the Lebanese University. Further, the
Minister asked CAQA to report the universities with medical programs yet
haven't applied for accreditation.
Dr. Dhaif Allah praised ILU application for accreditation, paving
the road for external evaluators' committees' visits to the university.
ILU University President praised the efforts made by CAQA improving
academic programs in Yemeni universities. Signing the agreement was attended by
the Undersecretary for Scientific Research, Dr. Sadiq Al-Sharaji, the Assistant
Undersecretary for the Planning Sector, Dr. Elham Al-Sanabani, the directors of
the Information Technology Center, Dr. Fuad Abdel Razzaq, and the private
education institutions, Fuad Al-Hadda.
